Education and experience
Rick Merillat is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Cape Coral, FL, with over 17 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families.
Rick acquired his graduate degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore where he specialized in clinical mental health.
Rick is a Florida qualified clinical supervisor for post graduate licensed interns and was a field instructor for undergraduate/graduate interns. He is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (BCD) who has received specialized training on addictive behaviors, relationship counseling, depression management, and loss/bereavement.
Rick has served in many capacities at some of SW Florida’s prominent agencies including: Saluscare, Hope Hospice, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
He has been instrumental in developing social services programs and has established relationships with many community mental health providers and private practitioners. Prior to his career as a clinical social worker, Rick worked 10 years in radio as an on air talent and manager.
